The Next Big Thing
I don't normally watch variety or talent shows because there tends to be more variety than talent. However, tonight Britain's Got Talent proved a great exception!
Paul Potts is an average guy who's had a few setbacks in his life, was bullied as a kid, and was working as a cellphone salesman in a tiny town in Wales when he auditioned for the show. His passion is singing opera. He has a powerful tenor voices, and he moved the audience to tears every time he opened his mouth (I think I even saw Simon Cowell nearly choke up!). I don't even appreciate opera very much, and I'm now a big fan.
He won the entire competition and will get prize money and get to sing in front of the queen. Not to mention he can quit the day job and become a full time opera rock star.
His Cinderella story is really remarkable - take a listen and see for yourself. His new life is just beginning - best of luck to him. He really does deserve it.
