Shrimpoluminescence!
The pistol shrimp or alpheid shrimp is one of the scarier critters of the ocean - it can kill with sonic blasts!
The shrimp has one larger claw that, when snapped shut, releases small bubbles that momentarily reach incredibly high temperatures. More importantly the snapping also produces a sound wave able to stun or kill its prey. This phenomenon is called sonoluminescence, since in non-shrimp conditions the bubbles also release light. Informally, in the shrimp it's called shrimpoluminescence.
Also of note is that if the pistol shrimp loses its snapping claw, it will regenerate as a small claw while the other claw will grow into the specialized snapping claw. This shrimp also forms symbiotic relationships with gobys and other small fish. They live together, hang out together, and literally watch each other's backs.
Note: the gunshot sounds in the video aren't really the shrimp. That would be ridiculous.I also wish I knew which shipwreck is shown. It looks great!
