I have a soft spot for heist and con films like The Italian Job and Ocean's 11. So I was thrilled to find the BBC show Hustle. A group of five sophisticated con artists rob their unlikeable targets blind with plenty of twists and tricks. It's fast paced and slick sort of like Guy Ritchie meets 007.
The casting is fantastic including the character actor Robert Vaughn. If you don't know him, simply love him because he was in both The A-Team and Walker Texas Ranger, as well as the original The Magnificent Seven.
In this video from series two, the group's leader Mickey cons (again!) the poor bartender Eddie into yet another round of free drinks.
I also have this book on my Amazon wishlist - The Big Con. Written in 1940, the author documents both the cons themselves as well as the colorful con men of the early 20th century.
